The 2016

Metatron Prize

for Rising Authors

Submissions to the 2016 Metatron Prize for Rising Authors are now closed.

Thank-you to everyone who submitted :)  We are excited to read your work.

UPDATE: We have officially read through all the submissions and are currently working on feedback sheets + narrowing down our shortlist. We should be able to get back to everyone and announce our shortlist in June.

Metatron is thrilled to announce the second annual Metatron Prize for Rising Authors! We are looking for engaging manuscripts of contemporary literature [novels, novellas, poetry, short story collections, etc.] from all you emerging writers.

The winning manuscript will receive a $200 cash prize, a selection of past Metatron titles + a publication deal with Metatron!

We publish both chapbooks and books, so your submission can be anywhere from 25-150 pages, give or take. We are open to all genres/anti-genres.

We require a reading fee of $10, but in return, we guarantee constructive feedback on every submission. Moreover, every manuscript that makes our shortlist will be considered for an individual publication deal, meaning it’s possible we’ll award more than one contract.

We can’t wait to read your work and discover who will follow in the footsteps of Sofia Banzhaf, last year’s winner, for her manuscript Pony Castle, which went on to be praised by writers like Lynn Crosbie and Sarah Gerard, and was selected for the Amazon Kindle Singles program.

Metatron is an independent press based in Montreal, Canada. We specialize in contemporary literature and titles by new or rising authors. In the past, our books and booklets have been featured by outlets such as Paper Magazine, Dazed & Confused, Weird Canada, Normale Magazine and many more.
